Rather than focusing on accomplishing their personal best running records, a legion of AJC Peachtree Road Race participants focused on another personal record—sporting the most unique costume.

Below, you’ll find the costumes we spotted along the 10K course through Midtown and Buckhead that could not be ignored.

Here, you see some runners and walkers were determined to show the “fruits of their labor” via their costume choices.

Others wanted to honor the history of America’s birth by dressing as some of country’s icons like President Abraham Lincoln and the Statue of Liberty.

One gentleman caught the eyes of our team with his props and performance more than just his costume. He managed to juggle while running the race.

Some attempted to find the most unusual ways to sport the American flag.

A father and son duo decided to fast forward to summer vacation with their Hawaiian-themed costumes Thursday.

Calvin Smyre,  were on hand for unveiling of the first statue of Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday at the statehouse grounds, more than three years after Gov. Nathan Deal first announced the project.  During the hour-long ceremony leading to the unveiling of the statue of Martin Luther King Jr. at the state Capitol on Monday, many speakers, including Gov. Nathan Deal, spoke of King's biography.
