Officials said the fire was discovered after a man woke up to use the bathroom and get a snack.

“He quickly alerted the rest of the family and everyone was able to escape” without injuries, Gwinnett fire said.

The cause was determined to be faulty electrical wiring in the wall of the kitchen, the fire department said.

The Red Cross was on scene to assist the family.
