A northeast Atlanta fast food restaurant was damaged by a fire that broke out around daybreak Wednesday.

The fire was reported shortly before 7:30 a.m. at the Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in the 600 block of Boulevard near Ponce de Leon Avenue.

Atlanta fire spokeswoman Janet Ward said the fire, which broke out in the back part of the restaurant, was quickly extinguished.

Atlanta fire Battalion Chief Glen Riley said the fire was contained to a rear storage area where flour and other dry goods were kept.

Riley said the restaurant was closed and no one was inside when the fire broke out.

There were no inuries, he said.

Fire officials have not determined what caused the blaze.
