The University of Georgia and the University of Florida issued a joint statement Sunday condemning an antisemitic message that appeared on buildings outside the stadium where the football teams played this weekend.

The message, which said rapper Kanye “Ye” West was “right” about his recent antisemitic statements, was projected onto the TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville after the Georgia-Florida game Saturday night, officials and photos posted to social media confirmed.

The same message appeared on another building in the area the same night, and other antisemitic messages have been reported to have appeared around the city this past week, according to local government officials.

In their joint statement, the universities said they “denounce these and all acts of antisemitism and other forms of hatred and intolerance.”

“We are proud to be home to strong and thriving Jewish communities at UGA and UF, and we stand together against hate,” the statement continued.

It was not clear from where the messages were being projected.
