A serious crash involving multiple trucks on I-75 North in Cobb County near the I-575 split has cleared, but traffic backups remain during Wednesday’s evening commute.

The wreck happened just before 1 p.m., according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. The scene cleared about 3 p.m.

Traffic camera photos shared by GDOT showed a tanker truck and a jackknifed truck with an agricultural trailer touching each other in the middle two lanes of the interstate. It’s not clear what caused the crash, and Cobb police have not responded to questions about the incident.

GDOT did not say if anyone was injured, but an ambulance was at the scene. The agricultural trailer appears to be the type that transports live animals.
