An “armed and dangerous” murder suspect remains at large Sunday after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase across multiple counties over the weekend, authorities said.

Several state and local police agencies are searching for 18-year-old Vincent Steele, who is “wanted out of the City of Atlanta for murder,” Clayton County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Jamal Webb said.

On Friday night, Georgia State Patrol troopers attempted to perform a traffic stop on Steele but he drove away into Clayton County, Webb said. He was then spotted along Ga. 54 in front of Mundy’s Mill High School, where deputies tried to pull him over.

“Steele again sped away, reaching speeds over 100 mph as he fled Clayton County and entered Fayette County,” Webb said.

The chase eventually reached the intersection of Banks Road and Fayetteville Road, where deputies said Steele T-boned another driver and ran away. Steele had been driving a vehicle registered to a family member, Webb said. Deputies provided aid to the other driver but their condition is unknown at this time.

Steele is wanted by Atlanta police, the GSP, the Clayton sheriff’s office and the Fayette sheriff’s office following the incident over the weekend, Webb said. According to authorities, Steele is about 5-foot-9 and 120 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.

Atlanta police have not shared more details about the killing for which he is wanted. In November, Steele had been booked into the Fulton County Jail on charges of theft and willful obstruction of law enforcement officer, according to online records.

Anyone with more information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911, authorities said. Webb said those caught aiding or harboring Steele “will be held accountable.”
