Brian Calderon Betancourt is charged with murder.

An 18-year-old was arrested Monday in connection with a deadly shooting last month outside a popular Midtown Atlanta restaurant.

Authorities have accused Brian Calderon Betancourt of killing 23-year-old Andres Munoz after arguing with him Oct. 24 outside Loca Luna on Amsterdam Avenue. Munoz confronted the teenager after discovering him leaning on the victim’s orange Jaguar coupe, according to Atlanta police.

The shooting was reported about 11:20 p.m., after the Latin restaurant had closed for the night. The Acworth man was shot once in the chest and died at a hospital.

On a GoFundMe page raising money for funeral expenses, Munoz’s brother called him “the king of this world.”

“All I want is for him to have a great journey with the huge amount of love that his friends and family will forever have for him,” Juan Camilo Munoz said.

It was not clear how investigators tied Betancourt to the case.

“Investigators from the fugitive unit located Betancourt and arrested him without incident in southeast Atlanta,” police said Tuesday.

Betancourt is being held on a murder charge at the Fulton County Jail.
