Man stabbed to death in downtown Atlanta
Police are investigating after a man was fatally stabbed Monday in downtown Atlanta.

Updated Jan 16, 2024A man died Monday after being stabbed in downtown Atlanta, authorities said.
Atlanta police responded just before 10 a.m. to the 500 block of Marietta Street about a person stabbed. The area is just south of North Avenue and Georgia Tech’s campus.
When officers arrived, they found the man with a stab wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was identified as 41-year-old Emerson Gooden by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Homicide investigators were called to the scene to determine the circumstances around the killing. No other information was released.
