A 24-year-old man is accused of killing his father during an argument inside their shared Forsyth County home Tuesday night before traveling to DeKalb County and taking his own life, authorities said Thursday.

Law enforcement responded at about 10 a.m. Wednesday to a deceased person call in the 600 block of Jefferson Place, where Anthony Gennaro Persichetti, 46, was found dead inside, according to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Stacie Miller. Persichetti’s ex-wife had stopped by the house after he didn’t show up for work and she called police after finding his body, deputies said.

According to Miller, Persichetti shared the home with Anthony David Persichetti. After the shooting, the ex-wife, who was not publicly identified, expressed fears to deputies that her son “may have been involved,” authorities said.

“While attempting to locate Anthony David, dispatch received a call from the DeKalb Medical Examiner’s Office requesting deputies to make a death notification,” Miller said in a statement. “Anthony David had been found along a wooded area of North Druid Hills Road with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

According to investigators, the men got into an argument at their home sometime between 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The son then left the residence and “committed suicide in DeKalb County,” Miller said.

No other details were provided by deputies about the nature of the altercation inside the home. An investigation is ongoing, Miller said.
