Police need help finding an “armed and dangerous” man who allegedly shot another man in Conyers late Wednesday evening.
According to police, the 34-year-old victim drove himself to a hospital shortly before 9 p.m. and before officers arrived at the scene on Rock Hill Drive, not far from Piedmont Rockdale hospital. The suspect, 31-year-old Cameron Holden of Lithonia, had left in a vehicle by then, but authorities were able to catch up with him.
Officers pursued Holden for several minutes until he crashed and then ran away, police said in a statement. Despite several resources being used, including drones and a K-9, Holden was not located.
Authorities said he and the victim knew each other, but no details were shared about the nature of their relationship. A woman who witnessed the shooting is cooperating with investigators, police said.
No information was released about what led to the shooting.
