A 26-year-old Cobb County man is accused of raping a woman nearly 50 years his senior at her home in front of her 5-year-old grandchild, according to arrest warrants.
Ahmad Rucker Sr., of Mableton, was arrested Friday on a dozen counts, including eight felonies, in connection with the rape of a 74-year-old woman, court documents show. He was booked into the Cobb jail Saturday and remains there without bond.
Rucker lived less than a mile from the victim’s home, where the alleged rape took place, court records indicate.
According to Rucker’s arrest warrant, he forced his way into the 74-year-old’s home around 4 p.m. Friday. He is accused of beating the woman and inflicting a range of visible injuries, including two black eyes, a broken nose and a broken shoulder, leading to four misdemeanor charges of battery and one felony count of aggravated battery against someone 65 or older.
The assault allegedly took place in front of the woman’s 5-year-old granddaughter, resulting in a charge of second-degree cruelty to children.
The warrant also accuses Rucker of imprisoning the victim in her own home and raping her. The nature of the sexual assault led police to charge him with one count of rape and two counts of aggravated sodomy. Cobb police have not responded to requests for more information about the incident.
Rucker’s address is on Brookside Drive in Mableton, a street that connects to the victim’s neighborhood. The location is near the corner of Veterans Memorial Highway and Oakdale Road, just outside of I-285.
Rucker’s eight felony charges include: first-degree burglary, aggravated battery of a person 65 or older, rape, exploitation of an elderly person, false imprisonment, second-degree cruelty to children and two counts of aggravated sodomy.
