A man is dead and another is behind bars after a shooting at a Buckhead apartment complex Thursday afternoon, Atlanta police confirmed.
The shooting took place at the AMLI Lenox apartments at 3478 Lakeside Drive about 4:40 p.m., police said. At the scene, officers said they found the wounded victim, who was later identified as 26-year-old Arlontae Marks. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died.
One suspect was detained at the scene. On Friday, Xavier Frison, of Fairburn, was arrested on one count of murder in connection with the killing, which was believed to be the result of “an ongoing dispute between known parties,” according to a police spokesperson.
Police did not say if Frison was the suspect initially detained at the scene, or if additional arrests were expected. He was booked into the Fulton County Jail, where he remains Friday without bond.

WSB traffic reporter Mark McKay reported hearing several shots from his condo building adjacent to the apartment complex. Videos he took at the scene show a white sedan pulling out of a parking spot blocked in by a yellow sedan, then driving away with a police patrol car in pursuit.
The area is about three blocks from Lenox Square.
A second video shows a woman who appears to be frantic running to the yellow car, then back toward the building. A police officer arrives and follows her into the apartment complex.
The chaotic scene was reminiscent of another shooting in a nearby apartment building in August. In that incident, 30-year-old Nadar Farhat was shot and killed at a complex at the corner of Lenox and Piedmont roads, police said. Investigators said they believe the fatal shooting was the result of a botched, drug-related robbery.
Christopher Cyprian, 40, and Jameka Bagnerise, 44, were each charged with murder and armed robbery in the Aug. 26 incident. Bagnerise was booked into the Fulton County Jail after his arrest, but Cyprian was injured in the shooting and underwent surgery at Grady Memorial Hospital. He was booked into the Fulton jail Sept. 2 after being released from the hospital. Both men remain in jail.
