Two men were shot and a third was injured by flying debris while on the set of a music video in southwest Atlanta on Sunday afternoon, according to police.
Officers responded to shots fired in the 500 block of Wells Street about 4 p.m., Atlanta police spokesman Officer Anthony Grant said. When they got there, Grant said they learned that two men had been shot and had already taken themselves to the hospital.
The men, identified as Antoine Blake, 25, and Vernon Moulder, 29, were stable Monday morning. A third man, 39-year-old Peter Cook, was originally thought to have been grazed by a bullet, but it was later determined he only sustained a cut from debris.
Police determined they were injured while recording a music video at what appears to be a steelyard. Channel 2 Action News reported the video was being filmed for rappers 42 Dugg, whose real name is Dion Marquise Hayes, and Roddy Ricch, or Rodrick Wayne Moore Jr.
Hayes took to Instagram on Sunday evening to ensure fans that he was not among the victims of the shooting. The involvement of the other rapper was not clear.
One man, Kenneth Swanson, was arrested on a charge of drug possession.
“Mr. Swanson is not considered a suspect in today’s shooting,” Grant said. “Officers found probable cause to arrest Mr. Swanson for possession of an illegal narcotic during their investigation and interviews with witnesses on scene.”
Police are still working to gather information on potential suspects and determine a motive. An investigation is ongoing.
