A man was killed and another was injured early Sunday after gunfire erupted at a home in northwest Atlanta, police said.

At about 12:10 a.m., Atlanta police got a call about two people shot in the 200 block of Chappell Road. The brick residence is situated in between Joseph E. Boone Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in the Hunter Hills neighborhood.

When officers arrived, they found a 28-year-old man who was suffering from a gunshot wound and a 26-year-old who had been shot several times. The 28-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene while the younger victim was taken to the hospital, where he is said to be stable, police said. Their names were not released.

No other details were released about the shooting or a suspect. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
