A 72-year-old motorcyclist was killed Wednesday morning in a chain-reaction crash in Dalton, police said.

Thomas Brown was riding his cruiser west on Walnut Avenue about 9:20 a.m. when a car and a pickup truck collided at the intersection with V.D. Parrott Parkway, Dalton police spokesman Officer David Saylors said.

Authorities said a GMC Sonoma driven by 73-year-old Trammell Caldwell turned west onto Walnut Avenue and collided with a white Kia driven by 34-year-old Kenneth Blevins, who was headed west.

The impact of the collision sent the Kia into Brown’s motorcycle, killing him.

The fatal wreck remains under investigation and charges are pending, police said.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the incident is asked to contact Saylors at 706-278-9085, extension 9124.
