A 17-year-old faces murder and aggravated assault charges in the death of her grandmother, authorities said.

Alisha Kianna Pompey was arrested Monday after 66-year-old Dorothy Pompey was found dead in their home, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said.

About 8:15 a.m., deputies arrived at the Pompeys’ residence at the Four Seasons Mobile Home Park, Lt. Allen Stevens told AJC.com. The incident was initially a medical call, but investigators later determined domestic violence was a factor.

Alisha Pompey was arrested later that morning. The suspect, victim and several other family members lived at the home, Stevens added.

The sheriff’s office did not release any other information on the suspect’s charges. AJC.com obtained the incident report tied to this case, but it provided no other information on the investigation.

The suspect remains in the Fayette County jail without bond, jail records show.
