A woman who was hit by a car in Lawrenceville on Dec. 25, 2016, died this week, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Taylor Hamm, 26, had been in a coma since the Christmas morning crash, according to the news station. She died Tuesday.

Hamm was lying in Lawrenceville Suwanee Road when police responded to a report of a suspicious person about 6:40 a.m. that day, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. She was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center in stable condition.

The driver continued to her job at Gwinnett Medical Center and called police, Channel 2 reported. She was not charged.

Hamm had been in a hospital during most of the 15 months, Channel 2 reported. In February, for roughly two weeks, Hamm’s mother, Dana Poole, brought her home and cared for her. But she later died from complications.

“I do know she was aware of us being there,” Poole said. “She could hear us.”

Services for Hamm will be held at 2 p.m. April 7 at Wages Funeral Home's Lawrenceville chapel, according to a funeral announcement. The family will accept visitors between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. April 6.
