Deputies are investigating a homicide after a woman’s body was found Friday near a roadway in Douglas County.

The body was discovered near West Union Hill Road and Ephesus Church Road, and the county’s medical examiner has ruled the death a homicide, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. Neither her name nor her cause of death have been released.

The post said the sheriff’s office “does not feel that there is an immediate danger to the residents in that area.”

No other details about the investigation have been provided.
