The FBI has dubbed him the “wave cap bandit,” and an official says the man has robbed or attempted to rob six banks in metro Atlanta in the past two months.

His crime spree began Aug. 8 at a Wells Fargo Bank in the 11000 block of Tara Boulevard in Lovejoy, FBI spokesman Stephen Emmett said Tuesday in a news release.

He went on to rob or attempt to rob:

The man, believed to be in his mid-30s, has a medium to stocky build and often wears shorts, sunglasses and a wave cap.

A woman who stood with the man during Monday’s robbery at a teller station is not believed to be part of the robbery, Emmett said.
