Disciplinary action has been taken against “those involved” in a threat made against a DeKalb County middle school this week, the school district said Thursday.

The district hasn’t identified what the threat was or who allegedly made it, but a spokeswoman sent Channel 2 Action News a statement that confirmed a threat was made against Champion Theme Middle School in Stone Mountain.

The statement also said the district has “communicated with the parents of those believed to be involved directly, and disciplinary action has been taken against those involved.”

“The safety of our students and staff is a top priority at the DeKalb County School District ... The school and the district are taking proper precautions to protect students and staff at Champion,” the statement said.

No other details have been released.
