Police on Wednesday released video of two suspects in the armed robbery of a Buckhead pizza shop employee.

The robbery occurred Oct. 16 as the Sarpino’s Pizza worker, who had finished his shift, waited for a ride at the Peninsula at Buckhead apartments, according to Atlanta police. The complex and the pizza shop are in the 2500 block of Piedmont Road.

In the video, two men are seen walking through a parking deck moments before the victim was attacked, police said. One was wearing a red zippered sweatshirt with a cartoon face on it, and the other was wearing a black coat with the hood up.

The employee, whose face is obscured, can be seen sitting on an overturned store cart in the background.

According to police, the worker said he was waiting for his ride at 5:15 a.m. when he heard two men walk up behind him.

The duo split up, police said, with one staying behind the victim while the other walked in front.

He told investigators “one of the suspects suddenly pointed a gun at him and demanded all his belongings,” police spokesman Officer Anthony Grant said. “The victim stated the suspects took his phone, wallet and $37 in cash.”

Both men allegedly ran away toward Piedmont Road with the victim’s belongings.

It was the second armed robbery to involve a Sarpino’s employee in as many months. A suspect in a Sept. 6 robbery at Sarpino’s is already behind bars. Michael Antonio Rolax was taken into custody after he was seen running from the restaurant and found hiding in a nearby maintenance closet.
