Authorities on Monday released video of a physical assault outside a Newton County chicken wings restaurant in an effort to identify the suspect.
The assault happened Wednesday in front of Susie’s Best Wings on Salem Road in Covington, according to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators believe the suspect left the scene in a white Audi, possibly a SUV, shortly after 9 p.m. A woman was driving the vehicle, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.
In the video, a man in a reflective vest approached the victim, who is wearing a face mask, outside the restaurant.
Part of what followed next is obstructed by a light.
There appeared to be a brief exchange between the two men before the man in the vest appeared to knock the victim out cold with a single blow.
The man in the vest then picked up a bag while the victim lay on the ground, the video shows.
