A shooting that left two 16-year-olds wounded at a Douglasville swimming pool began as a dispute between at least 10 people, police said Wednesday.

Officers are continuing their search for the gunman who shot the teens inside the Sweetwater subdivision, Douglasville police Maj. J.R. Davidson said, but several of the people involved have been identified.

Police responded to the neighborhood off Preston Boulevard about 5 p.m. Tuesday and discovered the teens with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to hospitals and are expected to survive, authorities said.

The suspect fled the neighborhood after firing the shots and has not been located, authorities said. Police have not released a description, but Davidson said the entire incident was captured on the pool’s surveillance cameras.

On Wednesday, police said the shooting was the result of an ongoing dispute between 10 people who met at the neighborhood pool to fight.

“The fight ended when one person pulled a handgun and fired several times,” police said in a Facebook post. “Detectives have already identified many of the suspects and are working to ID those remaining.”

It’s unclear whether any of the people involved lived in the subdivision.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call investigators at 770-920-3010.
