Nearly a year after shooting in the parking lot of a South Fulton apartment complex, police have made an arrest in the case.
William Omari McFadden, 20, was captured Wednesday without incident, the department said. While South Fulton police said the U.S. Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force assisted them in locating McFadden, details about the arrest were not released.
According to police, McFadden shot the victim multiple times after a fight broke out Aug. 29 in the parking lot of the Biscayne Apartment Homes in the 5000 block of Old National Highway.
“The victim of that shooting suffered life-threatening injuries, yet miraculously survived,” police said.
In December, authorities issued a lookout for McFadden on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He previously received an unrelated charge by the Clayton County sheriff’s office.
He is currently being held in the Fulton County Jail on those charges and an unrelated charged out of Clayton County, according to records. He will remain there until his next hearing, which is scheduled for August 7 at 9:30 a.m.
