Atlanta police hope surveillance video released Friday will help them solve the shooting of a man who was killed as he left a nightclub on the city’s southwest side.
In the video, posted on the department’s YouTube channel, a man is seen getting out of the passenger side of a white Chevy Impala, walking down Whitehall Street and returning to the car.
Investigators believe that man shot and killed 26-year-old Anthony J. Freeman early Tuesday after Freeman left the Blue Ivory club, also on Whitehall Street. Police want to talk to that man and the driver of the Impala, Atlanta police homicide Lt. Charles Hampton said.
“Hopefully,” he said, “someone inside the club will recognize these gentlemen.”

Police previously said robbery was the motive in the deadly shooting. Hampton said the robber initially targeted Freeman’s friend and pulled out a handgun.
“Something may have happened inside the club, and these two guys were followed outside,” he said.
Freeman moved from Detroit to Atlanta about three years ago, his father told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution earlier this week.
"He was a great young man,” Dennis Freeman said. “Everybody in his family loved him.”
Anyone with information about Freeman’s death is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477.
