Phillip E. Thompson faces two charges after police say he drove alleged shooter Sgt. Shaquille D. Craig to an off-base apartment to kill Spc. Marquez Brown and Pvt. Malika Jackson.

Craig was arrested March 9 in the deaths.

Brown and Jackson were found in a pool of their own blood in the apartment March 5. Both were shot, but one was also stabbed. Tips to two metro Atlanta police agencies led Hinesville police to the bodies.

Thompson, who is stationed on the U.S. Army base, had his first court appearance Friday morning.
