Halloween has come and gone, but that didn’t stop a Gwinnett County bank robber from dressing up like a superhero to play the criminal version of trick or treat.

Monday around 1 p.m., a man wearing a Spiderman mask entered the Fidelity Bank in the 4500 block of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and shouted, “Everybody, hands up!”

The suspect was holding what appeared to be a detonator in his hand and had something wrapped around his stomach, leading some bank employees to think he was wearing a bomb, said Gwinnett County Police Cpl. spokesman Deon Washington.

The robber had one of the employees lock the door to the bank, then demanded large bills from one employee’s cash drawer which he had separated into bags he gave them.

Once he had the money, the amount of which was not disclosed, the man led the employees to another area of the bank then fled out the back door.

Surveillance video shows him running down South Berkeley Lake Road, away from Peachtree Industrial.

Police described him as being about 5’6 with an average to heavy build. He wore a dark green jacket, black pants and a khaki bucket hat.

And a Spiderman mask.
