An inmate in the Rockdale County jail died Saturday night after she was found unresponsive in her cell, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.

Jamie Krischelle Henry, 40, of Douglasville, was found by deputies and medical staff about 8:25 p.m. during a routine check, Yolande Lovingood-Moore said.

“Medical staff transported Ms. Henry to Piedmont Rockdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time after arriving,” Lovingood-Moore said.

Henry was on a hold for another agency, according to jail records.

The sheriff’s office will investigate the incident.

The GBI will conduct an autopsy,  according to Lovingood-Moore.
