Police have arrested a second suspect in an armed robbery that occurred in Alpharetta in March.
Kenneth Battle was taken into custody Wednesday night in Roswell, according to a post on the Forsyth Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page.
Battle was the subject of a massive manhunt March 15 after he fled into Forsyth County after allegedly robbing a convenience store in Alpharetta, according to police.
Suspect Fredrequis Cobb was arrested March 15 as he hid in the floorboard area of a Jeep at a Forsyth County home, where officials say he and Battle fled after the armed robbery at a BP convenience store on Windward Parkway, according to police.
Authorities had surrounded a large area in south Forsyth County to try and find Battle, but shut down their search after more than 12 hours.
Battle and Cobb ran into the Alpharetta BP convenience store, jumped over the counter and snatched the cash register, police said.
After they drove away, the store clerk provided the tag number of their vehicle. A Forsyth County deputy located the Jeep and followed it to a residence.
Battle ran into a deputy as he fled through the dark into a nearby wooded area, police said. Battle appeared to be armed with an AR-15 rifle or similar firearm, police said during the chase.
Battle will be held without bond on numerous charges from multiple jurisdictions, according to police.
