A North Georgia man was arrested after he allegedly rammed a car into a mobile home in an effort to injure his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend, the Athens Banner-Herald reported.

Lazaro Torres Jr., 24, of Hull, was charged with five counts of aggravated assault and four counts of trespassing after the Oct. 19  incident, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office told the newspaper. Four others were in the home, which deputies said prompted the additional assault charges.

He allegedly drove his 2016 Dodge Dart into the home off Gillispie Drive in Hull about 9:30 a.m., the Banner-Herald reported. Witnesses told deputies that Torres ran over a mailbox before crashing into the home’s porch.

The woman’s new boyfriend said he was outside the home when he saw Torres approaching, the newspaper reported. He ran into the house just before the crash.

The woman, who broke up with Torres in May, showed deputies her car, which had an obscenity carved into the door, the Banner-Herald reported. Her new boyfriend’s pickup truck also had a shattered rear window.

Torres remained in the county’s jail without bond Tuesday.
