A North Georgia man was recently arraigned on multiple child pornography charges after being accused of producing and cultivating thousands of sexually explicit images and videos.

Virgil “Bud” Jesse Dupree Jr., 61, of Rockmart, was arraigned on several counts of producing and possessing child porn, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia said Tuesday in a news release. He was indicted on the charges in March.

Since at least May 2016, Dupree messaged teenage girls he met online and convinced at least four of them to send him pornographic images and videos of themselves, the release said.

Authorities executed a search warrant at his house in May 2019 and recovered multiple electronic devices containing child porn, the release said. The porn seized included images and videos of the four girls, according to investigators.

He was released from the county’s jail on a $25,000 bond after his arraignment, the sheriff’s office said.

Polk County police and the FBI investigated Dupree’s case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI at 770-216-3000.
