DeKalb police are searching for a man who wore a Spider-Man mask during an armed robbery at a grocery store.

According to police reports, an employee of the Aldi grocery store at 4900 Flat Shoals Parkway arrived just after 5:30 a.m. Friday to open the store. As the employee unlocked the door to the building, a man walked up to him with a handgun and said, “Keep going.”

The masked gunman wore a shirt with the Aldi logo.

The victim told police he was forced to open the store’s safe, and the man took the cash and coins, estimated at $500.

The man allegedly used black tape to bind the victim’s hands and feet, and he took the store keys and the victim’s car keys. When police arrived on the scene, the masked man and the victim’s car were gone.

Officers located the victim’s vehicle Sunday, abandoned in a neighborhood on Northstrand Drive. The car was impounded to search for fingerprints or other evidence.

Police said the masked man is 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call DeKalb police.
