Atlanta police have released surveillance photos of a man wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting at a Waffle House that left a bystander injured last month.

A 58-year-old Atlanta man was shot in the arm early June 3 while standing outside the restaurant on Courtland Street, AJC.com previously reported.

Officers responded to the shooting about 3:40 a.m. after an argument among customers waiting for their takeout orders turned violent, police said.

Njeri Boss, the director of public relations for the short-order chain, said a grill operator made everyone leave the restaurant after the argument.

“The alleged shooter got into his vehicle and then drove against traffic, shooting at what appears to be the vehicles of the people who he was involved in the argument (with),” Boss told AJC.com at the scene.

Instead, the bullets struck the building and injured a bystander who was not involved in the altercation, authorities said. The 58-year-old was taken to the hospital and survived his injuries.

Investigators recovered six .40-caliber shell casings from outside the restaurant, according to a police report. The shooting also shattered the store’s front windows.

On Wednesday, Atlanta police released surveillance photos of the suspected shooter and his white Audi Q8 SUV. The man can be seen wearing an orange hat, a white tank top and jeans. According to police, the hat was left behind when the man fled the scene.
