A teenage boy was approached by two men in a white van who told him to get in at gunpoint Sunday afternoon in Cobb County, police said.

The 15-year-old ran away and was able to make it home unharmed, but police are searching for the two attempted kidnappers, Cobb police said in a news release.

The teen was walking on the sidewalk near Bells Ferry Road and Shiloh Run when the van pulled up, the release said. Both suspects were described as 40 to 50 years old.

The boy described the van as an older model white van with windows on the side. The van also had a ladder on top and black, box-style lettering on the side, but he didn’t remember what it said, the release said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cobb police at 770-801-3470.
