A 56-year-old man faces several charges after he was accused of threatening to stab a woman, leading to a police chase Thursday in Clayton County.

Kenneth Davis was charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, battery and theft by taking after the incident, which began in the 700 block of Mt. Zion Road, Clayton County police said.

Officers were called to the scene about a domestic disturbance. Davis threatened to stab the woman during an argument that “turned physical,” police said.

The relationship between the suspect and victim was not released, but they did know each other and it was not a random incident, police said.

When officers arrived, Davis left the scene in a vehicle, which prompted the pursuit, police said. Clayton County deputies later took over the chase, which ended with Davis in handcuffs.

No one was injured during the incident.

As of Friday afternoon, Davis’ name did not show up in Clayton County’s online jail records, so details on his custody remain unclear. AJC.com has reached out to the sheriff’s office for more information.
