A man is accused of killing his mother’s boyfriend inside the family’s home, the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.

Investigators believe a dispute between Clark Chandler Anderson, 22, and 56-year-old Kevin Mack Murr led to the Sunday night shooting at a home near Dallas. Anderson fired multiple shots, striking Murr a number of times and killing him, according to Sgt. Ashley Henson.

Murr was dead when deputies arrived at the Summer Glen Trail home, Henson said.

Anderson, who also lived in the home, was arrested and charged with murder, malice murder, two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and hindering a 911 call, Henson said.

Anderson was being held without bond Thursday at the Paulding jail.

According to his online obituary, Murr was a longtime employee of Lockheed Martin and a member of the local machinists union.

“He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go hunting and fishing whenever he could find the time,” the obituary says. “Kevin was also an auto enthusiast who enjoyed tinkering with cars.”

A Saturday funeral is planned in Austell.
