Two people with multiple active arrest warrants were taken into custody after the vehicle they were driving allegedly caught a cop’s eye because of a busted tail light, authorities said.
A Duluth police officer pulled over the man and woman after he said he noticed their 2004 Acura TSX with a tail light out, brake light not working and the driver failing to maintain his lane, according to the incident report obtained by AJC.com.
The traffic stop took place Monday around 1:30 a.m. near Pleasant Hill Road and North Berkeley Lake Road, the report said.

The male driver allegedly handed over an official-looking license with the name Rex Knot, but the officer said it had multiple inaccuracies and was a fake, the report said. That prompted the officer to call for backup and arrest the man.
The woman allegedly handed over a driver’s license with the name Kellie Carter, which came up as expired for a man from Rockdale County, the report said. She was also detained.
After giving permission for a vehicle search, another license for Kellie Carter was found in a book bag in the trunk, the release said.

The release said both then identified themselves as Charles Freeman, 50, and Alesha Maahs, 31, both of Bethlehem. They had multiple active warrants from Gwinnett, Forsyth and Barrow counties, including charges for possession of methamphetamine, probation violation, burglary and felony shoplifting, the report said.
Both are in the Gwinnett County Jail and denied bond, according to jail records.
Freeman and Maahs face additional charges for felony manufacturing, selling or distributing false identification documents and giving false name, address or birthdate to a law enforcement officer, the report said. Freeman also faces multiple driving misdemeanors that led to the traffic stop.
