Police: Cobb student says ‘I’m going to shoot up the school’

Richard Lawrence Jennings allegedly told Allatoona High School classmates he was going to shoot up the school.

An Allatoona High School student has been charged with terroristic threats after another student reported he had made a threat to shoot at the school.
Richard Lawrence Jennings told several classmates, “I’m going to shoot up the school,” according to Cobb County school police.

Jennings, who lives in Kennesaw, admitted he made the statement, his arrest warrant states. But he told police he wasn’t serious.
"I was just trying to be funny,” Jennings said, his warrant states.
Jennings was arrested Thursday afternoon, Cobb jail records show. He was released the following day after posting $20,000 bond.
