The general manager of a Gwinnett County pizza restaurant was shot Monday night as he walked to his car, and police are looking for the gunman.

Quinn Harned of Conyers had just closed Marco’s Pizza in the 4000 block of Five Forks Trickum Road near Lilburn when a man in all black tried to rob him, according to a Gwinnett police incident report.

At some point, Harned was shot in the chest, Cpl. Deon Washington said in a news release.

Officers responded shortly after 10 p.m. and found Harned lying in the parking lot.

“Officers applied a chest seal to the victim and began other first aid measures before paramedics arrived,” Washington said.

A bystander helped police administer aid to Harned, according to the incident report. He is expected to survive.

Authorities do not believe the shooter got away with any valuables.

“Detectives are working to piece together the sequence of events and will canvass the shopping center for potential evidence,” Washington said.

Anyone with knowledge of the incident is asked to call police at 770-713-5300.
