A Peachtree City man has been charged with elder abuse after a two-year investigation revealed he stole money from a family member, according to police.
Kenneth W. Curran, 54, was arrested July 6 on allegations he misappropriated the financial resources of a family member over the age 65, Peachtree City police Lt. Chris Hyatt said.
While he did not specify the amount stolen, the age of the victim or when the theft started, Hyatt said police started their investigation in November 2018.
Police plan to continue the investigation with a focus on additional suspects who could be involved in a similar scheme with the same elderly victim.
When Peachtree City police went to Curran’s home to arrest him, they found another resident with drugs at the scene. They arrested Frances A. Robards, 34, and charged her with possession of methamphetamine.
Robards told police that another roommate, 35-year-old Crystal Glaze, had taken her car several weeks before and not returned it. Police were able to find Glaze at an extended stay hotel in Jonesboro, where she was arrested Friday and charged with vehicle theft.
Curran is being held in the Fayette County Jail on $55,200 bond. Robards and Glaze also remain in jail, records show.
