Two men were shot inside a DeKalb County apartment early Friday morning, police said.

Officers responding to the Windrush Apartments in the 3800 block of Kensington Road just after 3 a.m. found the men with gunshot wounds, DeKalb police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer told AJC.com.

Both men, who were not identified, were taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

Crime scene investigators were on scene Friday morning collecting evidence from the apartment and a breezeway leading to it, Channel 2 Action News reported. Officers told the news station the double shooting appears to be the result of a home invasion.

Spencer could not confirm the circumstances surrounding the shootings as the investigation continues. No suspects are in custody, he said.

DeKalb police investigated a separate shooting at an apartment complex in the northern part of the county overnight.
