Atlanta police are searching for a suspect who allegedly shot a man in the leg in May for flirting with his girlfriend.
The victim, Ousman Njie, said he didn’t remember what happened, but he knew the person who shot him, Atlanta police said in an incident report obtained by AJC.com. He wasn’t able to give officers a name.
A witness, Antonio Barber, said he saw what led to the shooting, which took place in the 3000 block of Reeves Circle on May 18, the report said. He said Njie was flirting with a woman, Crystal Quintero, before saying, “You got that baby,” to her boyfriend, Saleem Mohammad.
Atlanta police spokeswoman Stephanie Brown told AJC.com that Mohammad is an alias for Fleming Little, 54. Brown said the man has “several different aliases.”
Little then allegedly threatened Njie and said, “You have five seconds to take that baby back,” the report said.
Little then counted down from five, firing a warning shot when he got to three, and then shot Njie in the leg when he finished counting, the report said. Little then left the scene on a moped.
A second witness account matched Barber’s, police said.
Njie was driven by a family member to Grady Memorial Hospital.
Little is considered armed and dangerous, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call 404-577-8477.
