Union City police are asking for the public’s help to locate the suspect in a shooting that injured an innocent woman.

Jayme James, 23, is facing six charges of aggravated assault in Thursday’s shooting at the Maplewood Park Apartments on Oakley Road.

James had no known affiliation with the injured bystander, Union City police spokesman Officer Jerome Turner said. She was standing among a crowd when she was shot.

“We are still investigating if he was targeting someone else or just sporadic gunfire,” Turner said Tuesday in an email.

Anyone with information on James’ whereabouts is asked to contact Detective L. Oglesby at 770-515-7991 or loglesby@unioncityga.org. Tips can also be submitted to any local law enforcement agency.
