A man was shot and robbed while cutting grass at a Memphis apartment complex on Friday, according to his family.
The victim’s family told WHBQ he was carried into a wooded area after the shooting. WHBQ was on the scene as first responders brought him out of the woods on a stretcher.
His lower right leg was covered in bandages, and he waived at the cameras as he was put into an ambulance.
Crystal Smith lives at the apartment complex. She told WHBQ she heard at least six gunshots.
Smith was visibly upset about the recent violence in the area.
"My son got jumped and robbed yesterday for a bicycle...a bicycle! Now, people are getting shot and killed all over the city,” Smith said.
The family told WHBQ the man who was shot is expected to recover from his injuries.
No arrests have been made.
