Preliminary findings indicate a man found dead in the trunk of a car in a MARTA parking lot was killed at another location, taken to the MARTA station and abandoned with his car, a spokeswoman for the transit agency said Wednesday.

About 10 a.m. Tuesday, a call came in to police about a car in the north parking lot of the H.E. Holmes MARTA station, which is a free parking lot, spokeswoman Alisa Jackson said. MARTA police did an initial investigation, opened the trunk and found the body of Christopher J. Dean, 33, of Lithia Springs.

The death is being investigated as a homicide.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call MARTA police at 404-848-4911.
