A man in a northeast Georgia jail on a child molestation charge faces a similar charge in another county, officials said.

Isaac Joseph Sgro, 22, of Toccoa, was in the Habersham County Jail on charges of rape, aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, sexual battery and first-degree cruelty to children when Hall County authorities arrested him on charges of aggravated child molestation and child molestation on July 24.

The initial charges stem from “an act of child molestation against a female juvenile that occurred within the city of Cornelia,” Cornelia police Chief Chad Smith said last month in a news release. Jonathan Edward Lewicki, 31, was also arrested in connection with that case.

The latest charges are related to a case involving the same girl, sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Scott Ware said Friday. The child was molested between June 30, 2013 and June 30, 2018 in east Hall County, according to Ware.

Sgro is being held in the Hall County Jail without bond.

Both cases remain under investigation.
