A man who was shot inside a vehicle in southwest Atlanta has died, police said.

About 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Atlanta police responded to the shooting at the intersection of Campbellton and Barge roads, Officer Donald Hannah said.

“Our preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was in a vehicle with the suspects when an altercation ensued and the victim was shot,” Hannah said. “The victim fled from the vehicle and was able to flag down a motorist who contacted 911.”

The man was identified Wednesday as 31-year-old Mondavius Milan of Atlanta by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office.

He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

“A short time after transport, the victim died as a result of the injuries sustained,” Hannah said.

No arrests have been made in the case, police said Wednesday.

“Our homicide unit is working to gather additional tips and explore all possible leads,” Hannah said.
