A 59-year-old man has been charged with sexual battery after a woman said she was grabbed and groped in Roswell Area Park, police said.

Izet Dedic of Roswell came to the police department to meet with the investigator “after seeing the composite sketch of himself in the news,” Roswell police spokeswoman Lisa Holland said Saturday in a statement.

Officers responded to the park in the 10000 block of Woodstock Road on Monday about 11 a.m., according to Holland. A woman said she had been touched inappropriately.

“The male approached and starting asking personal questions that made her uncomfortable,” Holland said. “When she tried to depart, the suspect reached around and physically grabbed and groped her.”

Police said the woman goes to the park regularly and is “somewhat familiar” with the man, having seen him around the park. They had previously had “small conversations.”

Dedic remains in the Fulton County jail under $1,000 surety bond. He is scheduled for his first court appearance Monday.
