Two Canton men were killed and three others were injured in a three-vehicle wreck in Cherokee County on Saturday night, authorities said.

Deputies responded to a crash on Knox Bridge Highway in Canton about 9 p.m. after a BMW crossed the center line and struck another vehicle head-on, said Capt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said the BMW crossed into the oncoming lane while driving around a curve, striking a Honda Fit and then getting hit in the passenger side by a Honda Accord.

The driver of the BMW, identified as 35-year-old Samuel Joshua Kellogg, and his passenger, 55-year-old Jimmy Chester, were killed in the wreck, Baker said.

The driver of the Accord, 32-year-old Brandon Smith, was seriously injured. He was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital and his 3-year-old daughter was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Baker said. Neither of their injuries appear to be life-threatening.

The driver of the Honda Fit, 57-year-old Lee Fitzpatrick, was not injured in the collision. His 101-year-old old mother, however, was taken to Northside Cherokee Hospital with minor injuries, Baker said.

The crash remains under investigation.
