A wreck on I-285 in Clayton County sent two people to the hospital after they were trapped in their car, authorities said Friday.

Just after 4 p.m., the multicar crash on the outer loop shut down the interstate near Riverdale Road, according to College Park police.

It’s unclear how many cars were involved, but it appears a tractor-trailer and an SUV found in nearby woods were involved, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Two people had to be extricated from their car, police said. Their conditions were not provided.

The interstate reopened just after 5 p.m., but delays remain heavy. The WSB 24-hour Traffic Center recommends using I-75 or I-85 as alternates.
